About Intel® Processor Numbers

Intel® Processor Numbers: Laptop, Desktop, and Mobile Device

Processor numbers for the 7th Generation Intel® Core™ processors use an alphanumeric scheme based on generation and product line following the brand and its modifier. The first digit in the four-number sequence indicates the generation of processor, and the next three digits are SKU numbers. Where applicable, an alpha suffix appears at the end of the processor name, which represents the processor line. Intel® High End Desktop processors follow a different numbering scheme due to the difference in their feature set.

If you need to install or reinstall Windows 7, you can use this page to download a disc image (ISO file) to create your own installation media using either a USB flash drive or a DVD.

Before you begin

  • Make sure you have:
    • Your Windows product key (xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx). Learn more.
    • An Internet connection (Internet service provider fees may apply).
    • Sufficient data storage available on a computer, USB or external drive for the download.
    • A blank USB or DVD (and DVD burner) with at least 4 GB of space if you want to create media. We recommend using a blank USB or blank DVD, because any content on it will be deleted.
  • Read the System Requirements.
  • For Enterprise editions please visit the Volume Licensing Service Center.

Follow these steps to download Windows 7

  1. This product requires a valid product activation key in order to be downloaded. Enter the 25-character product key that came with your product into the field below. Your product key is located inside the box that the Windows DVD came in, on the DVD or in the confirmation email that shows you purchased Windows.
  2. Once the product key has been verified, select a product language from the menu.
  3. Select either the 32-bit or 64-bit version for download. If both are available, you will receive download links for both. Not sure which one? See the FAQ page for more information on how to determine which version(s) you need.

Windows 10 new features

Let me list down some of the major featured introduced in Windows 10 up until now. I’m pretty sure that Microsoft will be adding more features to Windows 10 when the final version is released.
  1. Windows 10 comes with a new Start Menu. It is a mixture of Windows 7 style Start Menu and Windows 8 style Start Screen.
  2. There have been huge improvements in touch UI especially the Continum which shifts to the touch friendly UI if the keyboard is detached from the computer.
  3. The Modern interface has been further integrated into the Desktop. Now the modern apps will run like any other Desktop based app in a window or full screen if you want.
  4. Finally the virtual desktops feature has been included in Windows 10. Mac OSX and Linux had this feature for ages but Windows always lacked this feature. Now users can create different Desktop environments within the same account login.
  5. The Alt-Tab keyboard shortcut key now doesn’t work like task switcher. It opens up the task view where you can switch between opened apps as well as your created virtual Desktops.
  6. The command prompt is getting keyboard shortcuts as well!
  7. Cortana has been more tightly integrated to the Windows 10 Operating System.
  8. The Charms bar has disappeared in favor of a Settings menu under the Start Menu.
  9. Windows File Explorer Home folder has been enhanced.
  10. DirectX 12 is scheduled to be added to Windows 10.
